The Muscatine community is continuing to mourn after a shooting claimed the lives of six family members and the shooting suspect.
Since Monday, the community in Muscatine have set up a memorial outside the McFarland home on Park Avenue. Six members of the McFarland family were killed earlier this week, including a mother and multiple siblings.
Four of the victims were found dead Monday at the McFarland home, where a makeshift memorial has been created.
Lesa McFarland, 51, Ryle McFarland, 20, Mark McFarland, 16, and Ryan McFarland Jr., 13, along with Datoka Whitlow, 32, and Austin Harris, 29, were the victims in the shooting. Balloons, flowers and other items are at the growing memorial.
The shooting has rocked the city, especially since some members of the McFarland family were students and employees of the Muscatine Community School District.
