Events begin for women landowners and farmers

Women, Land and Legacy, a resource for women in agriculture will be kicking off their 2020 “Grow and Share” calendar of events on Jan. 3 at Gramma’s Kitchen in Walcott.

The first topic of the year will be Women of USDA. Women, Land and Legacy is a unique USDA state-wide program, currently active in 30 counties, providing locally-led education and outreach, as well as networking opportunities, particularly for women landowners and farmers in Iowa.

This local Women, Land and Legacy group is being led by a partnership between local women in agriculture and Cedar, Muscatine and Scott County Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation District, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and The Nature Conservancy.
