City of Muscatine Opens Online Surplus Auction With Vehicles, Equipment and More

The City of Muscatine will open its next online public surplus auction on Monday, June 15, with bidding available through 3 p.m. Monday, June 29.

The auction, coordinated by the Department of Public Works, features dozens of surplus items from multiple city departments that were previously declared surplus by the Muscatine City Council.

Residents can participate by visiting Public Surplus, selecting “Iowa” and then “City of Muscatine.” Registration is required to view complete item descriptions and place bids.

Among the featured items available for auction are:

  • Two 2017 Ford E450 transit buses.
  • A 1978 tanker truck formerly used by the Fire Department.
  • A federal arrow board and three electronic message boards.
  • An ODB leaf machine, Rugby 100 laser tool and Partner concrete saw.
  • Multiple 18-volt DeWalt power tools and batteries.
  • Two pallets of floor and wall tiles, a Reznor radiant heater and a 15-foot aluminum flagpole.
  • A John Deere lawn tractor with mower deck, a Johnsered push mower, a two-wheel tilt-deck trailer and lawn tractor wheel weights.
  • A surplus ambulance, bariatric cart, Outdoor Life refrigerators and several pieces of fitness equipment, including cable stack weight machines, a dips and pull-up machine, an incline weight bench, a lat pull-down machine and weight racks.
  • Fire and rescue equipment, including Scott SCBA tanks, SCBA units, gas-powered ventilation fans and brush guard parts.
  • A smart screen with projector and sets of lockers.
  • A John Deere 455 tractor with mower deck, Mustang skid loader, four recycling trailers, eight recycling pods and a 10-foot straight snowplow blade.

The online auction opens June 15 and closes at 3 p.m. June 29. Interested bidders should register in advance to review listings and submit bids before the auction ends.
