The magic of the holiday season is coming to Downtown Muscatine as the annual Downtown Muscatine Holiday Open House returns Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026, bringing festive decorations, seasonal refreshments and special shopping opportunities to the downtown district.
The event will run from noon to 4 p.m., with select businesses opening as early as 10 a.m. Locally owned shops, boutiques, restaurants and specialty stores will welcome shoppers with holiday displays, exclusive promotions, festive treats and unique gift ideas.
The Holiday Open House has become a community tradition, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to explore Muscatine’s historic downtown, discover one-of-a-kind gifts and support local businesses as the holiday shopping season gets underway.
“Our local small businesses are the heartbeat of Muscatine, and the Holiday Open House is the perfect way to celebrate them while finding unique gifts for everyone on your list,” said Brad Bark, president and CEO of the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “There’s something special about downtown during the holidays. We look forward to welcoming families, friends, and visitors for an afternoon filled with community spirit, festive fun, and holiday cheer.”
Whether shoppers are looking for holiday gifts, enjoying seasonal refreshments or simply taking in the festive atmosphere, the event offers an opportunity to experience the businesses and local charm that make Downtown Muscatine a destination throughout the year.
Admission is free and open to the public.

Downtown Access and Traffic Restrictions
Visitors attending the Holiday Open House should be aware that traffic restrictions remain in place near the Sycamore Street and East 2nd Street intersection as public safety concerns continue in the area.
While vehicle access is restricted in portions of the area, pedestrians can still access downtown businesses. The north-side sidewalk in the 200 block of East 2nd Street will remain open and available throughout the event.
Visitors are encouraged to follow posted signs and use caution when driving near the restricted area. The community’s patience is appreciated as downtown businesses remain accessible and the holiday shopping season gets underway.
