History comes to life during the annual Walk (or Ride) Through History at Greenwood Cemetery on Sunday, Sept. 20.
The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department will host the free, family-friendly event beginning at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, 1814 Lucas St. Visitors can take a leisurely walk or ride a MuscaBus while local tour guides share stories about some of the cemetery’s most notable residents. The roughly one-hour tour combines local history with humor and plenty of Muscatine charm.
The event will take place rain or shine. MuscaBus will provide transportation to and from the cemetery, with stops at both the entrance and exit. Rides must be reserved at least one day in advance by calling 563-263-8152. No registration is required for those participating in the walking tour.
Anyone interested in sharing their love of local history and storytelling can also volunteer as a tour guide. For more information or to volunteer, contact Muscatine Parks and Recreation at 563-263-0241.
