The Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry and downtown businesses are preparing to host the 16th annual Girls Getaway event in Muscatine next month.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, and will feature a day of shopping, dining and special promotions throughout downtown.
The day begins with brunch, a style show and door prizes at The Merrill Hotel from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Participants will receive a swag bag filled with special deals and activities offered by participating downtown businesses.
Organizers say the annual event is designed to encourage visitors to explore local shops, restaurants and boutiques while enjoying a day out with friends.
Tickets for the event are $50, plus applicable taxes and fees, and are available through Eventbrite. Those who register by March 24 are guaranteed to receive the official Girls Getaway swag bag.
Attendees will also have the option to extend the experience by staying overnight at The Merrill Hotel, which is offering an exclusive rate for Girls Getaway participants on Saturday night. Interested guests can contact the hotel directly for additional details.
