Downtown Muscatine will come alive with music, food, culture and family activities Saturday, Sept. 26, as Viva Muscatine returns for its fourth annual celebration of Hispanic heritage and the diverse cultures that make up the community.
Presented by the Muscatine Community School District, the free event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. along East 2nd Street from Iowa Avenue to Pine Street. The day will feature live entertainment, cultural performances, local food and retail vendors, community organizations and activities for all ages.
The main stage lineup includes the Muscatine High School Dance Team, Augustana College y Musica, Lotería, Venezuelan music and culture, Las Guitarras de Mexico, Peruvian Pan Flutes, Quince Queens and Grupo Fantasia Musical, which will close out the main-stage entertainment from 4 to 6 p.m. Families can also enjoy bounce houses, a mechanical bull, human foosball, games, face painting, arts and crafts and balloon creations.
Dozens of food, retail and community vendors will be on hand, offering everything from tacos and Mexican street food to Balkan specialties, desserts, jewelry, clothing, crafts and other goods. Community organizations will also provide information and activities throughout the event.
Viva Muscatine is designed to bring the community together while celebrating Hispanic heritage and the many cultures represented in Muscatine. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs for the main-stage entertainment. The event is a 2026 Racial Justice Grant recipient from the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine and is supported by area businesses and community partners.
