Coal ash, a toxic byproduct of burning coal, has numerous health and environmental consequences. Iowans who live near active or former coal-burning plants such as Muscatine, Scott, and Louisa counties deserve to understand the risks of coal ash, have access to air and water testing, and learn how to advocate for stronger protections.
