Iowa second-year kicker Caden Buhr has been named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. Buhr etched his name into Cy-Hawk Series lore with a game-winning, 42-yard field goal with just 15 seconds remaining to push Iowa past Iowa State, 16-13.
The redshirt freshman from Bettendorf, Iowa, connected on all three of his field goal tries. He nailed a career-long tying 45-yard field goal and added another 32-yard make. Since misfiring on his first career attempt in Week 1, Buhr has made five consecutive field goals, including three from 40-49 yards. Buhr is averaging 2.5 field goals per game, which ranks sixth nationally.
