WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Carroll, Henry IL, Putnam, Rock Island and Whiteside and Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Muscatine and Scott.

IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of rain with embedded thunderstorms will occur across the area through Saturday morning with peak hourly rates between 1 to 2 inches from the strongest storms. Rainfall totals will vary considerably across the watch area. The hardest hit areas south of I-80 could receive 3 to 5 inches of rainfall with isolated higher amounts possible. Flash flooding is a risk with an increased probability of river and creek flooding.

The 49th annual Watermelon Stampede hits the streets this Saturday, August 15, from 8–10 a.m.

Runners and walkers will be moving through several Muscatine neighborhoods, and motorists should expect temporary delays and use extra caution near the race routes. Please slow down, stay alert, and consider alternate routes during the event.
