Muscatine police urge drivers to please slow down, obey traffic laws, and be aware of pedestrians and bicyclists who may be on or near the roadway.
Do not be a distracted driver. Avoid using any electronic device while driving.
The Muscatine PD thanks you for helping keep everyone safe by obeying the traffic laws of the City of Muscatine and the State of Iowa.
The Muscatine Police Department deployment schedule for the ATE mobile vehicle is as follows:
Monday-Friday (March 9-13, 2026) – 1900 block of Hershey Avenue.
The focus of the Automated Traffic Enforcement (ATE) program has always been to improve the safety of the roadways for motorists and other users. Significant progress has been made at the intersections where static ATE equipment is currently operating. With that in mind, the City of Muscatine utilizes a mobile ATE system that is placed throughout city streets, and monitors and enforces violations of posted speed limits. The use of the mobile ATE system is typically deployed in locations where citizens are concerned about speeding violations, or police officers are unable to concentrate enforcement efforts. The Muscatine Police Department deployed a new Automated Traffic Enforcement (ATE) mobile vehicle in August 2024 replacing the 2016 Chevy Sonic with a 2023 Ford Escape.
If you have a suggestion for where the mobile ATE should be placed, you may make a request using the Submit Citizen Request (Muscatine Connect). Choose “Neighborhood Mobile ATE Request” from the options under Public Safety – Police on the Muscatine Connect page.
The MPD will routinely update the website to include location information on where the vehicle will be located. The locations will also be included on the City of Muscatine Facebook and Twitter social media pages.
