Traffic Alert: Parham Street Reduced to One Lane of Traffic

SHARE NOW

Parham Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Mulberry and Cedar streets effective immediately (Thursday, March 5) after an investigation into a dip in the street pavement revealed a potential hollow cavity beneath the asphalt surface.

With heavy rain expected this week and next, the Department of Public Works decided to place traffic control devices around the problem area and asked the public to alternate going around the lane closure. Officials are unsure when repairs can be completed or how long the lane closure will last due to the potential for incoming weather.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and follow all posted traffic control signs for the safety of workers, pedestrians, and drivers.
