Muscatine Schools Launch Summer Grab-and-Go Meal Program for All Local Kids

Families in the area will once again have access to free meals for children this summer through the Muscatine Community School District Grab-and-Go Meal Program.

The program is open to all children ages 1-18, and children do not need to attend Muscatine schools or live in Muscatine to participate. Organizers say the goal is to help ensure kids have access to nutritious meals while school is out for the summer.

Families who register will receive seven breakfasts and seven lunches each week for every child enrolled in the program.

Meal pickup will take place at Susan Clark Junior High School on:

  • Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The first pickup date is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, and the final summer distribution will be Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Parents or guardians must register children in advance by completing the form available on the Muscatine CSD website or Facebook page.

Families with questions can contact the district at [email protected].

School officials are encouraging families to spread the word so more children can benefit from the summer meal program.
