The Muscatine Fire Department (MFD) will celebrate the retirement of three longtime members on Tuesday, Sept. 30, marking the end of more than 70 years of combined service.
Battalion Chiefs Joe Timmsen and Ted Hillard are both retiring after decades of leadership and dedication to the Muscatine community.

Firefighter Lanny Creamer is also concluding his career after more than 22 years with the department.
An open house will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 312 East 5th Street, where community members are invited to thank the retirees for their service.
Fire Chief Mike Hartman praised the group for their lasting impact.
“Joe, Ted, and Lanny represent the best of public service. Their commitment to safety, teamwork, and community care has set a standard for all who follow.”
