It’s going to be cold to end the week and heading into the next one. Friday’s temperature high is forecasted to be below 0° and in the single digits on Saturday. An Extreme Cold Watch is currently in effect, and an Extreme Cold Warning is expected to be issued.

Due to the extremely cold weather expected on Friday, the Muscatine Community School District and Muscatine High School have announced that they are postponing their varsity boys and girls games against North Scott to a later date.

On Wednesday, the Muscatine Community School District and High School issued this statement:

“Due to the impending extremely cold weather, we have elected to reschedule our boys/girls basketball double header with North Scott from Friday, January 23, to Thursday, January 22. We will be playing varsity only with the varsity girls starting at 5 pm, followed by the varsity boys.”

All varsity home games for both the girls’ and boys’ Muskie basketball teams can be heard on KWPC, the Voice of Muscatine. These rescheduled games will be no different. Hear tomorrow night’s games on KWPC, 95.1 FM, 860 AM, voiceofmuscatine.com, and the free KWPC app. Brian and Jake Mussehl will be on the call with pregame starting around 4:45 pm.
