The fire was brought under control shortly after arrival, and crews began ventilating the building. A family pet was located inside the affected unit and safely removed by fire personnel.

All residents were evacuated, and no injuries were reported among occupants, bystanders, or responders. Working smoke detectors contributed to the early detection of the fire. Initial damage is estimated at approximately $80,000. Fire investigators remained on the scene to conduct an initial investigation into the cause, which has not yet been determined.

While managing the fire response, Muscatine Fire Department personnel also handled several additional emergency calls, including three EMS incidents, one emergent interfacility transfer, and a hazardous materials call.

The response to the Park Avenue fire included eleven firefighters and two administrative personnel from the Muscatine Fire Department, with support from the Muscatine Police Department.
