MCSA Food Pantry Taking Action: Emergency Support Needed
With the possibility that SNAP benefits may stop in November, MCSA’s Food Pantry is preparing for a dramatic increase in community need.
To make sure we can serve as many households as possible, we will not be holding our annual Thanksgiving Holiday Pantry this year. Instead, we are focusing all our resources on providing food to more families.
Why this matters:
MCSA’s Food Pantry typically serves 100 households each week, but in Muscatine County, more than 2,100 households rely on SNAP benefits.
How you can help:
We’re asking for our community’s support. Donations of funds and food make a huge difference. To donate, please contact MCSA’s Food Pantry Coordinator, Sam Slutts, at 563-264-3278 or [email protected]. You may also drop off donations at MCSA.
What you need to know:
The MCSA Food Pantry is a supplemental food assistance program, meaning we may not be able to meet all food needs.
During the month of November (as long as resources are available):
Food Pantry Hours: Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Food Bags Available: Mondays – Sundays, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Homebound? Please call for assistance. (Program enrollment limited.)
Households may visit once per week for food support.
This information may change as our resources change. Please look for updates on MCSA’s Facebook page and throughout our community.
We are grateful for the ongoing kindness and generosity of our community. Thank you for helping us support our friends, families, and neighbors.
