The Ben McCollum era continues to excite the fan base as the Hawkeyes stay undefeated with a 81-62 win over Xavier. The Hawkeyes used a 18-4 run over the last 12 minutes of the first half to cruise to a 45-29 halftime lead and didn’t look back. Iowa forced nine first half turnovers turning them into 12 points and shot a season high 62.5% from the field.
In the second half, the Hawkeyes maintained complete control extending the lead to 22 at one point, mainly by dominating in the paint. Iowa outscored the Musketeers 50-26 in the paint and outrebounded them 41-24 while holding Xavier to 39 percent shooting.

Senior Bennett Stirtz led the Hawkeyes with 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a complete 40-minute effort. Senior Tavion Banks added 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Junior Cam Manyawu nearly posted a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Junior Kael Combs contributed 11 points, going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, while adding four assists.
