A 38-year-old Coralville man is in custody following an armed robbery Monday morning at U.S. Bank, 1800 Park Ave., in Muscatine.
According to the Muscatine Police Department, MUSCOM received a report of the robbery at about 9:05 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24. Officers responded and began searching for a male suspect who had fled the scene.
A Muscatine county deputy later spotted the suspect vehicle traveling north on Highway 38. Additional law enforcement agencies responded, and an Iowa State Patrol trooper stopped the vehicle on Highway 38 just north of Highway 6.
Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Mathew Rawson of Coralville. He was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Muscatine County Jail on one count of armed robbery. Additional charges are pending.
The Muscatine Police Department was assisted by the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and Wilton Police Department.

Rawson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
