Muscatine, IA — August 27, 2025 KWPC, the Voice of Muscatine is excited to announce the return of Muskie Sports back to its airwaves on 95.1 FM and 860 AM and the official radio broadcast partner of the Muskies.
Muscatine High School athletics will return back to KWPC with the beginning of the 2025 football season as the Muskies begin their season on Thursday, August 28th against the Davenport North Wildcats at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport. Kickoff is slated for 7:15 p.m.
Calling the play-by-play for all 9 games this season at home and on the road includes the Voice of the Muskies, Brian Mussehl. The color commentator for all 9 games this season is Muscatine High School alumnus, former Muskie coach and player, Ben Nietzel. Both Mussehl and Nietzel bring years of football experience and a degree of broadcast professionalism that is unmatched. They are your Muscatine hometown broadcasters, on your hometown radio station, calling your hometown Muskies.
“All summer long, we’ve been working hard to bring the Muskies back to the legendary KWPC, the Voice of Muscatine,” said Connor Kenney, General Manager for KWPC. “It’s been exciting working with Brian and Ben to prepare for the season opener against Davenport North.”
Back in April, KWPC and KMCS (MC 93) were purchased by Krieger Media Company. “How could you not be excited about having local owners investing into the local radio station and bringing back to the radio, the local high school football team? It just makes sense and I’m thrilled to see this come into fruition,” Kenney added. “I also couldn’t thank our incredible sponsors enough for their support to make this possible.”
The Muscatine High School football team has 5 away games and 4 home games. Homecoming is Sept. 19th against Dubuque Senior. The Muskies will end its regular season on Oct. 24th.
