Muscatine students will have a chance to get moving before the school day begins during Fall Bike/Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 14.
The Muscatine Community School District is partnering with the State of Iowa for the annual event, which encourages students to get fresh air, enjoy physical activity and travel to school alongside classmates.
Several meeting locations have been established throughout Muscatine, allowing students to gather and walk or bike to school together. Participants are expected to meet between approximately 7:15 and 8 a.m.
The participating schools include Mulberry, Grant, Madison, McKinley, Franklin and Jefferson, along with Saint Mary and Mathias Catholic School. Families should check the event flyer for specific meeting locations.
Community members and first responders are also encouraged to volunteer at the meeting sites to help support students along their routes.
Those interested in volunteering can contact Whitni Pena at [email protected] to sign up for a location.
Fall Bike/Walk to School Day offers students an opportunity to incorporate physical activity into their morning routine while building connections with classmates and the community.
