The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department is introducing new optional membership packages for the Musco Sports Center while clarifying that free-use hours will continue to be available to all patrons.

Free-use time remains an essential part of the Musco Sports Center’s operating plan and is not being replaced by memberships. All patrons may continue to use the facility during designated free hours, regardless of whether they hold a membership. Free-use hours are offered Monday through Friday from 8 to 10 a.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m.

In addition to free-use hours, Parks and Recreation has introduced two optional memberships — a Walking Membership and a Facility Membership — designed to provide affordable access to the center during additional hours when the facility is not otherwise scheduled. These memberships allow patrons to use the Musco Sports Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 10 p.m., provided no other activities or rentals are taking place.

Memberships may be purchased at the Musco Sports Center, the Parks and Recreation office at Muscatine City Hall, or online at RecDesk.com. Additional details are available on the Musco Sports Center website, the Parks and Recreation website, RecDesk.com, or by calling 563-263-0241.

The Walking Membership costs $100 per person per year and is intended for individuals who wish to use the facility exclusively for walking. Members must check in at the front desk upon arrival and may walk the perimeter of the synthetic turf field during free times or when the field is not scheduled, at no additional cost.

The Facility Membership is available for $400 per person per year and provides expanded access to the Musco Sports Center, including pickleball, walking and use of the synthetic turf field. Members are required to check in at the front desk upon arrival.

Facility members may reserve a pickleball court online for one one-hour time slot per day. Court reservations may be extended at no charge at the front desk if the court is not already reserved. All members may play on the reserved court, while non-members are charged $5 per person for court use.

Facility members may also walk or use the synthetic turf field during free times or unscheduled periods at no additional cost.

The Musco Sports Center is a state-of-the-art, 122,000-square-foot, temperature-controlled indoor facility featuring a full-size synthetic turf field, permanent restrooms and on-site concessions. The versatile space accommodates football, soccer, softball, baseball, pickleball and a wide range of group events and community gatherings.
