Plans are already underway for a bigger and more immersive Fourth of July celebration in Muscatine this summer.
Organizers gathered this week to coordinate details for the annual fireworks display, and this year’s event will include a new feature as part of the nationwide celebration marking the United States’ 250th birthday.
Spectators along the Muscatine riverfront can look forward to a synchronized experience featuring fireworks, bridge lighting effects and a specially curated music mashup all timed together for the show.
The fireworks and music presentation is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. Those watching outside the main speaker areas can tune into MC 93.1 FM or download the MC 93 app to listen on your phone to hear the synchronized soundtrack during the display.
The enhanced celebration is made possible through a partnership involving Musco Lighting, J&M Displays Inc., Muscatine Power and Water, MC 93 — Muscatine’s Choice for Music, and the City of Muscatine.
