An evening of wine tasting, local cheese pairings, dessert and hands-on creativity is coming to the Muscatine Art Center as the center hosts its new “Paintings and Pairings” fundraiser on Thursday, May 14.
The event, benefiting the Friends of the Muscatine Art Center, will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and feature a curated tasting experience followed by a guided floral-themed painting session.
Guests will sample four featured wines paired with locally made cheeses during the opening portion of the evening. Winemaker Josh Glasson of Ardon Creek Wines will introduce each wine and discuss the pairing selections. Cheeses for the event will be provided by Cinnamon Ridge Dairy Farm in Donahue, Iowa.
Following the tasting, attendees will head to the studio for dessert and a guided painting class led by artist Brianna Rivers. Participants will create a floral-inspired artwork to take home.
Reservations are required, and seating is limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ticket prices are:
- $55 for non-members
- $50 for Friends of the Muscatine Art Center members
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support educational programming at the Muscatine Art Center.
The Muscatine Art Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays until 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
