Downtown Muscatine Fourth of July Parade Route Changes

Spectators planning to attend the Downtown Muscatine Fourth of July Parade should take note of a revised parade route this year as ongoing street closures and building demolition activities have prompted organizers to make changes.

The updated route will begin on Iowa Avenue at Fifth Street, continue onto Third Street, travel to Mulberry Avenue, proceed north to Fifth Street, and conclude at Cedar Street.

The change comes as portions of downtown remain impacted by street closures related to demolition work and safety measures in the East Second Street area.

Organizers encourage attendees to review the new route before heading downtown to plan the best locations for viewing, parking and accessing the celebration on July 4.

This year’s parade theme is “Happy Birthday USA! Celebrating 250 Years,” honoring the nation’s semiquincentennial with one of Muscatine’s longstanding Independence Day traditions.

Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, gather family and friends, and line the updated route to cheer on participants as the community celebrates the holiday.

Those interested in participating in the parade must register in advance. The registration deadline is Friday, June 26.
