Muscatine County Habitat for Humanity is excited to introduce a new twist on its annual Holiday Season fundraiser. Guests are invited to explore historic churches beautifully decorated for Advent and Christmas.

The Christmas Tour of Churches will take place Sunday, December 7, from 2 to 4 p.m., offering an unforgettable afternoon of holiday beauty, history, and community spirit.

“This year’s tour celebrates Habitat for Humanity’s Christian roots,” said Don Lampe, director of Muscatine County Habitat for Humanity. “Muscatine is home to many remarkable and historic churches. This event gives the public a chance to see their beautiful sanctuaries, stained-glass windows, pipe organs, and other unique features—all while supporting a great cause.”

Participants can begin the tour at any of the six churches and visit the others in any order. At each stop, guides will share stories, traditions, and historical details that highlight the church’s role in Muscatine’s heritage.

Participating Churches:

  • Grace Lutheran Church – 2107 Cedar St.
  • Trinity Episcopal Church – 211 Walnut St.
  • Zion Lutheran Church – 512 Sycamore St.
  • Wesley United Methodist Church – 400 Iowa Ave.
  • First Presbyterian Church – 401 Iowa Ave.
  • Saints Mary and Mathias Catholic Church – 215 W. 8th St.

Tickets are $20 per person, with children five and under admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in several convenient ways:

  • Scan the QR code at right or on event materials
  • Visit muscatinehabitat.org/upcoming-events
  • Stop by the Habitat for Humanity office at 100 W. 2nd St. (inside Real Estate Resource Associates)
  • Or purchase at the door of the first church where you begin your tour

Guests can also meet Habitat for Humanity members during the tour to learn more about the organization’s mission of building affordable homes for families in need.

In addition to the tour, a raffle will be held featuring prizes such as University of Iowa Men’s Basketball tickets, Putnam Museum and Science Center admission passes, and air purifiers.

Proceeds from the event will support Muscatine County Habitat for Humanity’s ongoing efforts to help local families achieve the dream of homeownership—thanks to the generosity of volunteers, donors, and community supporters.
