Muscatine, Iowa – Plans are underway for the 2025 4th of July Celebration in Muscatine! The community parade, coordinated by Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GMCCI), will get underway promptly at
4:00 PM on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Downtown Muscatine. GMCCI will be giving away a Grand Prize of $300 cash to the Best in Show “Overall” float and $50 to both the Best Vehicle and Mayor’s Choice! GMCCI is looking for block captains to help with staging, so reach out via email to [email protected] if interested.

Deadline to enter is June 27th. No late entries will be accepted. The parade is $50 for individuals/non-profits and $100 for businesses/advertisers. Funds raised go towards the fireworks and event expenses.
*Residents in the area should be aware of extra traffic starting at 2pm during parade lineup.
GMCCI and the Keep Muscatine Beautiful organization have teamed up again for Almost Fireworks Fest (AFF) on the Riverfront happening from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM! The event features live music, food vendors, beverage tent, bounce houses, and more. Following AFF, join us for the Honor Guard ceremony before a live performance by the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra. At dusk, enjoy the fireworks show over the Mighty Mississippi! “Let’s come together as a community to show our patriotism and honor those who have served our country. Bring your family and friends for a day of fun and celebration,” said GMCCI President & CEO and Mayor of Muscatine Brad Bark.
In addition to GMCCI’s events, the Musser Public Library will be hosting the Children’s Parade downtown beginning at 9:00 AM. New this year is the Free Throws & Freedom: Red, White & Ball 3v3 Youth Tournament from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on the riverfront basketball courts. Each year it takes approximately $35,000 in funding to purchase the fireworks display and to cover the associated expenses surrounding this community celebration. The fireworks are funded by local businesses and individuals. Please consider donating today.
