From the book description: “When he finds out that his cousin Jun has been killed as part of Philippine president Duterte’s campaign of extrajudicial killings, seventeen-year-old Jay Reguero is devastated. However, neither his own family nor Jun’s will talk about his cousin’s death or answer Jay’s questions. But when Jay gets a mysterious message from someone that his cousin was innocent, Jay decides to travel to the Philippines to find out what happened. Patron Saints of Nothing [inspires readers] to consider questions around family, loyalty, identity, truth, and ultimately, what our responsibility is to ourselves and to each other.”

Ahead of the conversation with Randy, you can purchase a copy of Patron Saints of Nothingfrom Greenpoint Mercantile in Muscatine, Iowa. The Musser Public Library also has a limited number of copies of the book to check out (patrons are encouraged to contact the Service Desk to check availability).
