Wilma J. Montgomery, 94, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Lutheran Living. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church in Wilma’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.
Wilma Jean Welk was born on November 8, 1931 in Louisa County, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene F. and Minnie “Alice” A. (Goddard) Welk. On January 15, 1956, Wilma was united in marriage to Edmon W. Montgomery in Muscatine. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as past chairwomen of the Bloomington Township Homemakers. She had served as a past 4H leader in Bloomington Township as well. Wilma enjoyed going to auctions looking for household goods and antiques and was an avid collector of Barbie dolls and Teddy Bears. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Women’s Basketball fan.
Wilma will be deeply missed by her son, Tim Montgomery and wife, Jane of Lone Tree and one sister, Doris Welk of Muscatine.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edmon in 2017 and two brothers.
