Myra Piotrowski
1929-2025

Myra Jane (Edmondson) Piotrowski, 95, peacefully passed away at home in Muscatine, Iowa on Thursday, June 12, 2025. She was tired.

She was born on a farm east of Ainsworth, Iowa on June 28, 1929. Her parents were Floyd and Blanche (Willey) Edmondson. She grew up loving animals, especially her pony, Teddy, music and nature. She helped her Dad on the farm while her four brothers served in WWII.

She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1947 and Coe College in 1951. She taught girls Physical Education at West Jr. High and helped organize Girls Softball Summer League in the 1960s. She also worked at Evenson’s Hallmark part time. After she retired, she owned Baskin Robbins for several years and worked at Senior Resources for 11 years. She sang with the Sweet Adelines Port City Pearls. She volunteered as a children’s leader in Bible Study Fellowship for 7 years. She was a member of Spangler Chapel Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School.

She loved sports, especially golf, bowling, basketball, football and baseball. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan along with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. She loved card games, poker and bridge and played in numerous groups. She also enjoyed camping and trout fishing at Yellow River in the summer with her friends.

She married Charles Piotrowski on June 12, 1951. He preceded her in death in August 1996. She is survived by her daughters, Beth Edmondson and Mary (Steve) Teraberry and son, Nic (Marissa) Piotrowski. She is blessed with seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews which include two special nephews, Craig and Alan Edmondson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, (Clair, Preston, Richard and Jay), one sister, (Correne) and her son, (Edward).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spangler Chapel and the Humane Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 on Friday June 27 at Discovery Park, Shelter #1, 3300 Cedar St. Muscatine Iowa. Food and drink will be served. All are welcome.
