Lloyd Meyerholz, 83, of Wapello passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello. Graveside Service for Lloyd will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Wapello Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will follow the graveside service at the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello. Memorials have been established for the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello and Compassus Hospice of Washington County. S
Lloyd Lee Meyerholz was born on August 28, 1942 in Burlington, the son of Frank and Viola Mae (Adamson) Meyerholz. Lloyd was a 1960 graduate of Wapello High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army stationed in West Germany. Lloyd farmed all of his life in the Wapello area; he also assisted Danny Ashland from time to time doing electrical work, as needed. Lloyd was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello, head of the local levy commission, and was inducted in the Hall of Fame of the Iowa Cattleman’s Association. Lloyd enjoyed traveling especially taking trips to Hawaii.
Lloyd is survived by his family, Stephanie (James) Gipple, David Meyerholz, Penny (John) Meyerholz-Hoogland, Jeff Meyerholz, Megan (Ryan) Sharer, Kara (Ben) Vierling, Dillon (Carrie) Gipple, Doris (Michael) Hult, Augustus, Greta, Gibson, Walter, Harrison, Huxton, Boden, and Ruthie and many extended family members.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruthie on March 14, 2019.
