Leo Edward Hindbaugh, 91, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Wilton Retirement Community.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Leo was born on October 18, 1933, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Thomas A. Hindbaugh and Marie C. Marshall. He married Gay Webb Carter on August 6, 1971, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Leo was a member of the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Leo served in the National Guard after serving in the Navy from 1952 to 1960, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Mohassan Grotto and the American Legion Post 27. He was also a Muscatine fireman for 6 years. He retired after 24 years of service from the Rock Island Arsenal from the welding and engineering department.
Leo enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards. He was a jack of all trades and could fix and build anything. He raced stock cars in the 1960’s at Columbus Junction and West Liberty. Most of all, he loved making people laugh.
Leo is survived by his wife, Gay; stepchildren, Lisa Starkweather and Shawn (Lisa) Carter; grandchildren, Calvin Carter, Shian (Levi) Wrieden, and Bailey (Nick) Holladay; great grandchildren, Morgan Wrieden and Logan Wrieden; and brother, Robert D. (Ruth) Hindbaugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
