James Noble, Sr, 91, of Muscatine passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Accura Nursing Home in Muscatine. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral Home of Muscatine. Funeral Service for Jim will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room. A memorial has been established for Wesley United Methodist Church. Jim was born on July 17, 1934 in Morning Sun, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Estella (Edington) Noble. Jim attended Muscatine School. On December 24, 1951, Jim was united in marriage to Phyllis Howard in Muscatine. They later divorced in November of 1984. Jim later married Mary E. Duncan on August 29, 1992 in Muscatine. Mary preceded Jim in death on June 28, 2024. Jim began his career as a laborer for Huttig Manufacturing Company, he later went on to work at Roach and Musser Company as well as the Grain Processing Corporation, before becoming a self-employed contractor and builder for Jim Noble Contractors and Builders. Jim was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Muscatine Boat Club, Elks and Moose Lodges and was involved with the football’s Quarterback Club. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, operating CB radios, traveling, boating, water skiing and camping. More than anything else, his favorite was spending time woodworking in his wood shop.
Jim will be deeply missed by his children; James (Judy) Noble, Jr. of Muscatine; Connie (Ned) Fry of Mediapolis and Jeffrey (Barbara) Noble of Solon; 7 grandchildren, Jason Noble, Tyson Geertz, Amy (Sean) Justus, Kara Conner, Sarah Noble Hagerty (Tom), Kate Noble-Pierson (Nick) and Luke (Kyndra) Noble; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; step-children; Todd (Linda) Duncan and Lori (Randy) Toyne; sister, Betty (Gary) Holtz of Fairborn, Ohio and special friend, Melody Evans.
Jim was preceded in death by parents; his first wife Phyllis; his second wife Mary Noble; brothers, William and John Noble and granddaughter, Carie Geertz.
