On August 6, 1971, in Omaha, NE, she married Leo E Hindbaugh. They were married 53 years. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2025.

Gay performed in dance recitals during her youth. She loved to camp with the Good Sam’s Camping Club with their friends and family. Gay would make homemade greeting cards for all occasions. Her Brazilian Embroidery items were so beautiful and displayed as wall hangings and on clothing. Once a week family gathered for card playing and dessert at their home. Gay excelled in Genealogy and loved to gather and research the history of her ancestors.

During the summer she had a big garden and canned fruits and vegetables. Gay and Leo would travel in their RV to warmer climates during the winters. They went on many fishing trips together to Branson, Missouri.

While her children were in grade school, she worked as the office manager for Dr George Blackwood Chiropractor. For many years, she worked at Muscatine Seed and Supply / McKee Appliance as the best sales lady. After the business was sold, she went to work for Eastman House Furniture in Muscatine until she retired.

Gay loved being a member of Blue Grass Presbyterian Church and a devoted Christian. Gay was a beautiful and kind soul and was her mother’s caregiver. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all her family.
