Dr. Carole J. Reesink, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at her home in Bemidji, Minnesota.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the MCSA or to Muscatine Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the funeral home. Reverend Gerry Kahler will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Carole was born on January 31, 1945, in Muscatine, the daughter of George Wilbur and Edith M. Broadston Reesink.
Carole was a 1963 Muscatine High School graduate. She then went to Muscatine Junior College. Carole was a college professor and had several degrees. She earned her BA from Iowa Wesleyan, Masters from the University of Northern Iowa, followed by her PhD from the University of Iowa. She first taught at West Junior High and Laboratory Schools of the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She later taught in Vancouver for a few years. She then taught at Bemidji State in Minnesota for many years.
Carole enjoyed making fudge and cherry pies to take to the West Liberty Fair. She enjoyed going to football and bowl games for many years. She loved her Schipperke dogs.
Carole is survived by her brother, William G. Reesink of Muscatine and nieces and nephews, Heidi L. Reesink and her husband, Matt Paszek, of Davis, California; Erik W. Reesink and his wife, Lily, of Johnston, Iowa; Heather M. Robinson and her husband, Bill, and their children, Kelsey, Lindsey, and Logan, all of Ames, Iowa.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
