1942-2026

Cynthia Rike Zellers, 84, of Muscatine, Iowa passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Memorials for Cynthia may be directed to New Life Baptist Church.
Cynthia Sue Rike was born on July 26, 1942 in Troy, Ohio, the daughter of Jack and Laveta (Hunt) Rike. Cynthia grew up in Laura, Ohio was baptized on March 29, 1959 and graduated from Milton Union High School in 1960. On April 20, 1963, Cynthia was united in marriage to Dale Zellers in New Lebanon, Ohio. In 1985, Cynthia graduated from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She began working as a Registered Nurse at Children’s Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Cynthia and Dale made their home in Trotwood, Ohio before moving to Duluth, Georgia in 1995 and then moved to Muscatine, Iowa in 2019.
Cynthia will be deeply missed by her two children; son, Cary Zellers of Flowery Branch, Georgia and daughter, Tia (Kelly) McGriff of Muscatine; six grandchildren, Brady McGriff, Nolan McGriff, and Colin McGriff all of Muscatine, Dr. Connor (Ali) McGriff of Highland Park, Illinois, Ellie Zellers of Atlanta, Georgia and Chase (special friend, Kalina Hoang) Zellers of Flowery Branch, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Marley McGriff and great-grandson, Sullivan McGriff, both of Highland Park, Illinois; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Pat Bishop of Springboro, Ohio.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale on August 20, 2024; sister, Jackie Rike of Laura, Ohio and sister-in-law, Cheryl Fleming.
