Alex E. Boysen, 23, of Morning Sun, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House of West Burlington with his beloved family by his side. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Methodist Church in Wapello. Burial will be in Fulton Cairo Cemetery. Memorials in Alex’s name may be made to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.
Alex was born on November 11, 2002 in West Burlington, Iowa to David and Dani (Allen) Boysen. He graduated from Wapello High School in 2021; he studied at Iowa State University and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in Networking and Cyber Security from Southeastern Community College in 2025. Alex loved family game nights, online gaming, technology, the family dogs and cats (Bella, Bouncer, Rain, and Soda), his snake (Noodle) and anything Scooby Doo! He also enjoyed going deer hunting, fishing, and raising poultry, especially Runner Ducks.
Alex will be missed by his parents David and Dani; his older brother Lukas; grandparents Greg (Vicki) Allen, Rick Criss, and Ray Wendt; aunts and uncles Jim (Natalie) Allen, Zac (Erin) Criss, Marde (Andrew) Johnson, Sam (MJ) Wendt, Bryson Allen, Brock Allen, Niki (Roy) Carver, and Travis (Janelle) Wendt; many cousins; and special family friend Matty Van Luyn.
Alex was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Bobbi Wendt and paternal grandparents Harold and Anne Boysen.
