For the safety of council members, staff, and the attending public, the City of Muscatine has cancelled Thursday’s (Feb. 13) in-depth Muscatine City Council meeting, but the Council will convene that night for another round of budget discussions.
City staff and the Muscatine City Council will meet at 6 p.m. tonight to review Capital Projects, Debt, Tax Increment Financing, Road Use Tax, and Local Option Sales tax usage. However, Wednesday’s budget meeting has been postponed until 6 p.m. Thursday due to the potential for heavy snow on Wednesday.
The Thursday session will begin a review and discussion of the proposed City of Muscatine budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026, and the determination of when to schedule the two public hearings required by state code. That discussion could continue into a session on Saturday if not completed on Thursday.
