The City of Muscatine is putting a retired MuscaBus up for sale through an online public surplus auction.
Bidding opens Wednesday, Aug. 19, and will remain open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26. Muscatine City Council declared the bus and other items surplus during its Aug. 18 meeting.
MuscaBus No. 255 is the only item included in this auction. The bus was one of the designated MuscaBus vehicles equipped with a bike rack. It has since been replaced and meets Department of Transportation requirements for disposal through sale.
Residents interested in bidding can visit Public Surplus and select “Iowa,” followed by “City of Muscatine,” to find the auction.
Registration is required to access the full item description and place a bid. The city says complete bidding information and details about the retired bus will be available through the Public Surplus website.
