Number 2 Alley will be closed to all traffic between Cedar Street and Walnut Street through Wednesday, August 12, for underground utility work.
TelCom Construction, LLC will excavate two pits in the alley to install underground cable splices and remove existing pedestals. Work is scheduled to take place over three days, weather permitting.
Cedar Street and Walnut Street will remain open, and no traffic impacts are expected on either street during the alley closure.
The City of Muscatine urges motorists and pedestrians to use caution near the construction area and follow all posted traffic-control signs and devices.
