Plan to see a lot of kids and parents biking and walking to school tomorrow and it’s all for a great reason.

Monday morning, Emerson Taylor with the Musser Public Library and Whitni Pena with the Muscatine Police Department stopped in to talk about the first Bike/Walk to School Day event in Muscatine on Tuesday, May 12th.

This event helps promote kids getting outside and exercising, even if that’s just biking or walking to and from school as much as they can throughout the year. It’s also a great reminder to motorists that kids to bike and walk to school and back home every day. Motorists should always be mindful of kids in school zones and in neighborhoods before and after school.

To get kids excited to bike or walk to school tomorrow, there are several meeting points for each school. All elementary schools in Muscatine are participating and you can see the meeting points and times below:

Parents are encouraged to bike or walk with their kids to school tomorrow morning. We look forward to seeing a bunch of bright, young faces walking to school on a beautiful spring morning!
