A section of the Running River Trail system will close on Monday, March 30, weather permitting, to allow for construction work related to the dredge spoils relocation project.
The closure will extend from the chicanes, or the serpentine curve in the road, at the upper end of Riverside Park to just east of the pedestrian bridge over Mad Creek.
After a pipe beneath the trail is installed, the exposed area will be filled with gravel and reopened with a temporary surface. The trail will be restored to its original asphalt condition later.
Trail users are encouraged to bypass this section on Monday and use caution in the following days while the temporary patch is in place.
