Moving Forward has been one of my favorite perks of being the morning show host on KWPC. I truly enjoy getting to speak with people from all different walks of life. I have spoken to countless nonprofits, business owners, or individuals trying to make a difference. All these different people have one thing in common—a love for their community. Every person that has stepped into my studio to discuss an event, their mission, or even a business, have made it clear that what they are doing is to better Muscatine. It may come as no surprise to those that have lived here their entire lives, but to someone only recently submerged in the community, it is incredibly refreshing.
Often, I meet with nonprofits to discuss fundraisers that they are holding so that they can raise funds for their different programs. It is clear when we discuss their programs that they are truly trying to put those that are struggling on a straighter path. They put on their events to draw from the community’s love for one another, and with that they are able to accomplish incredible things.
This week we are focused on the first week of Two Weeks of Love—we are collecting food for the food pantries in our area. We encourage everyone to come to Hy-Vee and drop off non-perishable food items for those less fortunate. Come and give!
