This week I want to talk again about the new year and everything that comes with it. I am excited about all the opportunities that will come my way this year, but I also have been getting many of those notifications on social media that are reminders of things that were happening around the same time in previous years. Looking back on those memories and mixing that with new year’s resolutions has me contemplating what it means to make significant change in my life. New Year’s resolutions are a great way to dedicate yourself to making a change to better yourself. Several of my resolutions are based on my health, things like eating better and getting more sleep, for the simple fact that I want to feel healthier. This time of year is great for setting goals for yourself, especially when places like the Muscatine Community Y are offering so many great incentives to become a member. Sticking to our resolutions may be one of the toughest things we commit to each year, but they are incredibly important, they prove that we have the willpower to follow through on what we want to accomplish. When I reflect on previous year’s resolutions, I am not content with the results, so this year I plan to meet my goals and hopefully exceed them. I hope you’re able to meet and exceed your goals this year too. Be sure to encourage each other to keep up the hard work as we move through 2019.
Thanks for reading and be sure to tune in to Moving Forward for encouraging messages from people in our wonderful community.
