The past two years, the Muscatine Farmers Market has held a regular indoor market during the winter months. Jennifer DeFosse, Market Manager of the Muscatine Area Farmers Market, said, “We began hosting an indoor market two years ago. Our first year it was a great success, both in terms of customers and vendors.”
Unfortunately, the market saw a decline in success the year after. “We saw such a sharp decrease in foot traffic last year that our vendors decided they would rather go back to having just the Christmas event,” said DaFosse.
This winter, the only market event they will host will be the Handcrafted Christmas event. DeFosse said, “It’s our biggest event of the year, and we’ll have live music and usually around 50 vendors selling handmade items and gifts, candies, holiday decor, and much more.”
Handcrafted Christmas will be held Saturday, December 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the Muscatine Mall.
