Moving Forward this previous week featured Holly Thomas-Koehler and Linda Anders from UnityPoint Trinity. We spoke in length about their upcoming event “Get Your Rear Rolling.” It is a fundraiser promoting awareness for colon cancer, which is highly preventable. As we heard many times during Breast Cancer Awareness month back in October, the best way to deal with this type of cancer is early detection. In fact, it is so important that you get regular screenings that the recommended age of fifty has actually been moved forward by five years to forty-five. It is crucial that you take the time to set up appointments to get tested for things like this because it can make a huge difference in recovery and the ability to treat.

So, the purpose of their event is to both spread awareness and gain funds to help spread awareness in other formats. On January 19th you can join UnityPoint as they partner with the Colon Cancer Coalition to host “Get Your Rear Rolling.” A bowling fundraiser where you can put together a team of six at $30 per person or $180 per team. Get out and support this great cause and have a blast while doing it. Plus, the event is 80’s themed so dress to impress and throw on your best 80’s attire. I can’t wait to see some of the crazy outfits people come up with for this night of fun. Check out my interview with Holly and Linda on YouTube at Voice of Muscatine.
