The 8th Grade Spring Fling, sponsored by the MHS Student Council, will take place Saturday, May 11th from 8-10 pm in the MHS cafeteria. Students will need to bring their IDs and $5 for entrance. This is for 8th grade students only.
Attention 8th grade students! If you are 14 years old or will be by June and would like to make some money this summer, please stop by the counselor’s office to pick up information about detasseling.
6th graders in the Battle of the Book, please report to your 3rd hour class for attendance and to sign up for MTSS, then head to the library. Each team needs to make sure they have a computer. 7th and 8th graders in Battle of the Books please report to the library for MTSS time, you should have been requested by Miss Denton.
There will be an 8th grade football meeting on April 29th from 3:00-3:25 in the auditorium.
6th and 7th grade girls can stop by the attendance office to get information on the Muskie Basketball Camp that will take place in June.
The meeting with Coach Orvis for 8th grade girls who are interested in playing Basketball at MHS next year has been rescheduled for May 6th at 2:55. We will remind students as we get closer to that date.

MHS Drama Department presents this award-winning adaptation of the classic novel – the story of an extraordinary girl who uses her imagination, intelligence and psychokinetic powers to change her destiny. Packed with high-energy, catchy music and plenty of humor, this imaginative show is guaranteed to entertain! Held at the MHS Auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door (credit/debit can be accepted) starting 45 minutes prior to curtain. The 7TH annual MCSD Race for the Schools – 5K and Muskie Mile TIMED run will be held on Saturday, May 4th at the Muscatine High School. The 5K begins at 8:30 am and the Muskie Mile begins at 8:00 am.
New this Year – There will be 2 Bounce Houses at the start finish line for kids to enjoy before and after the race. Bounce Houses are being donated by Bash-N-Bounce! All students who participate in the 1-mile or 5K race will receive a race water bottle. SPECIAL recognition for students who complete both races! Be sure to mark on your registration from if you want to run both races. You will just need to pay the 5K price and you will receive one shirt.
Student fees are discounted to encourage student participation. The student fees are $10.00 for the 5K and $5.00 for the Muskie Mile. Scholarships are available for MCSD students to cover the registration fees. Be sure to register before the fees increase on April 25.
This event is designed to promote physical fitness within the community of Muscatine and the Muscatine Community School District. Proceeds from the race support MCSD Physical Education programs and student wellness. Special awards will be presented to the business and MCSD School with the greatest participation.

From the Athletic Department~ In order for your 7th/8th grade student to participate in a sport, 3 forms will need to be turned in to the Central Middle School Athletic Department/Attendance Office:
1) Central Middle School Athletic Form ~ signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
2) Concussion Form ~ signed by parent/guardian and student athlete, good for the school year participating
3) Iowa Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Examination form ~ signed my medical licensed professional and parent/guardian, good for 13 months from the date of physical. These can be found online on the Central Middle School site under Activities & Athletics or can be picked up at CMS.
