The February 6, Muscatine Adult Diabetes Support Group meeting will feature Allison Castle, Certified Holistic Health Coach, and will provide information on: 

  • Sugar cravings and what they mean 
  • The impact of sugar on the body 
  • Tips to reduce sugar intake 
  • Information on artificial sweeteners 
  • Natural sweetener alternatives  
  • A recipe and sample of a sweet treat 

As a Certified Holistic Health Coach, Allison has been trained by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Health Coach Institute and certified by the International Association for Health Coaches to help you change your habits and change your life! Her approach provides accountability and support. It considers you as an individual and how all areas of your life are connected. 

The meeting will be held at the ISU Extension office building, 1514 Isett Avenue, Muscatine, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All adults living with diabetes are welcome to attend. 


The Muscatine Diabetes Walk Project is an organized effort by a group of Muscatine citizens to provide diabetes education programs, outreach activities, support groups, and to strengthen partnerships with other community health agencies. Iaddition, we strive to bring awareness to diabetes research. The Muscatine Diabetes Walk Project is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.
