Muscatine and Cedar County Soil and Water Conservation Districts will team up with area experts to provide local learning opportunities.
The groups will host their Soil Health and Nutrient Management Workshop at the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office in Muscatine on February 21st, 2019, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event includes a free lunch. Natural Resources Conservation Service Resource Soil Scientist Jason Steele will speak in depth on soil health and nutrient management. Soil health improvements link to better corn, soybean, and cattle production, as well as better gardens and ecosystems. This workshop will involve a mix of hands-on and presentation-based learning. Certified Agronomists and Crop Advisors can earn continuing education credits.
Generous donations from Farm Bureau, Triple B Construction, Barnhart’s Custom Services, Cedar County Cooperative, and Bower Custom Services make this workshop and meal free for all participants.
The Muscatine and Cedar Soil and Conservation District/Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) offices will coordinate this event. Register for the event by calling the Cedar County NRCS office at (563)-886-6214, extension 3, or by emailing [email protected]
