Kent Corporation partnered with Rebuilding Together on Friday, May 5 to assist a local family by roofing their house. Volunteers gathered at 8 a.m. on Wisconsin Street and made great progress on the roof, and many of the volunteers returned to the house on Sunday to finish the project. Those volunteers included approximately 20 employees from Kent Corporation.
Rebuilding Together of Muscatine County is one of the organization’s 165 affiliates across America. Since its affiliation with the national organization in 2007, the group has completed more than 90 projects. The group assists in rehabilitation projects for low-income homeowners in the region. More than 600,000 people, including the elderly, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families, have benefitted from Rebuilding Together’s nationwide efforts.
“Multiple times, Rich Dwyer has pulled a volunteer group together from Kent Corporation and once again they did not disappoint,” said Frank Iliff, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together of Muscatine County. “This crew was second to none. They had a bigger project than normal and fewer people this time, and they still got the project done.”
Rebuilding Together is the leading nonprofit providing assistance to low-income homeowners for more than 25 years. Dozens of Muscatine businesses have donated to Rebuilding Together of Muscatine County.
“The volunteers from Kent Corporation always go above and beyond. When they finish the job, they stay to clean up and help with other side projects that need done as well. I can’t thank them enough for their time and service,” said Iliff.
“The families that are helped by Rebuilding Together of Muscatine County are our friends and neighbors,” said Rich Dwyer of Kent Corporation. “It’s important to us that our employees have the chance to serve the community, and we are happy to give our time for projects like this.”
